Polyamory is just one type of non-monogamous relationships, which include casual relationship, open relationship, swinging, polyfidelity, threesome, cuckoldry, etc.
They’re all good in my eyes. As long as adults choose what’s right for them, even monogamy, there’s no problem, and for some people monogamy works best. I respect any relationship that is freely chosen.
When I think about the kind of life I want for me and my future family and children, polyamory is the only option. The other types may be suitable for some situations for short periods of time, but when it comes to a long-term relationship based on mutual love, there are only two options: monogamy or polyamory. These are the two ends of the scale, with the other types or relationships situated between them.
I choose polyamory because it is the relationship best suited to human nature (only 4 percent of animals in nature are monogamous). Polyamory is basically love for human beings. It is a natural relationship that helps people to live happy, loving lives ten times more intensely than any other non-monogamous relationship.
For this reason the name of this website includes the word ‘polyamory’ (unlike other websites that want to attract a larger audience). I’ve been practicing polyamory for more than twenty years. While I’ve had experience with open relationships and one-night stands, only a loving relationship can give me satisfaction and full, deep meaning over time.
Some people may be polyamorous for a time and then go back to being monogamous and vice versa. That’s fine. No one type of relationship is right for all, but of all the possible types, polyamory is the one most consistent with our nature. Of course, you are free to choose any type you like. The important thing is that you are happy with your relationship.
There are no rules when it comes to love.
